The
history of art is like all histories, a history of people and what they
do with their lives. Lifetime
by lifetime art grows, rejects its older sibling and tries and does evolve
into something new and inspiring. The art of the late 20th century and
early 21st century, both an outgrowth and a rejection of modern art. As
the force and vigor of abstract expressionism diminished, new artistic
movements and styles arose during the 1960s and 70s to challenge and displace
modernism.
Approach
If
you cannot say it simply and directly then what is the point? The message
is lost. Simple and elegant is all we strive for. With the abundance of technology
it
is easy to make pretty things. Creativity though is the real benchmark.
